The Body Beautiful in Ancient Greece: Masterworks from the British Museum, an international touring exhibition of more than 120 objects, opens today at the Dallas Museum of Art. The exhibition explores the human form through exquisite artworks exclusively from the British Museum's famed collection of Greek and Roman art. You'll find iconic marble and bronze sculptures, fine painted pottery, funerary monuments, terracottas, and gold jewelry among the treasures on display, which cover more than three millennia of Greek civilization.

The exhibition features masterworks from the British Museum's collection, including the Diskobolos (discus thrower, right) sculpture from the 2nd century A.D. The Body Beautiful in Ancient Greece: Masterworks from the British Museum marks the first time this piece has been shown in the United States. The exhibition will also present a model of Ancient Olympia.
