Word from Kenya

After four days of silence, I heard from my husband yesterday. He's on a 12-day trip to Kenya. Their three-person team slept one night in an open-air lodge, and he wrote me saying, "Had bats in our room last night. Probably about 15. Got great photos of then in the close spaces. Great mosquito protection." Sure glad he sleeps under a net! Probably worth it for that great view. They came upon the elephants (left) while driving away from the boma (compound with huts made of dung--see second photo) of our Maasai friend, Joseph.

They have been on a mountain that has no communication access training male and female leaders (last photo). Now he's headed up another mountain to purchase and truck supplies up to people who have been without homes since the civil unrest broke out about two years ago.
