Emergency Contraception and Ethics

This morning's New York Times ran an interesting article about Plan B and its mechanism of action. And the article basically affirms what we have been saying. This form of emergency contraception probably does not prevent implantation of a fertilized embryo. Rather, it keeps ovulation from happening. This factor is significant in the abortion debate as it relates to those who hold that the embryo has rights of personhood from the moment of fertilization.

Update: Here's an editorial they added on the issue. A mixed bag here.
