Vivid Sydney
Sydney is 15 hours ahead of Dallas.
Felicity's sister lives in Sydney, so we spent the day in the city with her. After getting a little rest, we walked across the famous bridge in dazzling sunlight and had a fantastic view of the opera house. We walked around it and then visited The Rocks. Next we walked about 20 blocks to the Sydney Tower, where we ascended to the observation tower. We had a panorama of the entire city during sunset and then at night. Sydney is gorgeous! I got lots of great photos.
As it happens, Vivid Sydney, which transforms the city into one big playground of light, is taking place while we're here. It features more than fifty light art sculptures, giant glowing dandelions, fibre optic sea grass, and animatronic dancing lamps. Fun and festive.
From 6 p.m. to midnight every night, there will be a free light show with over fifty interactive and immersive light art sculptures, illuminated skyscrapers, and large scale projections around The Rocks, Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House and Walsh Bay. But after walking about ten miles, we made it only till 7 p.m. Hey, I'm proud of us for staying upright that long.
G'night, mates!
