Where Do You Get Your News?
TV is not dead! It’s still a popular news source. But thefastest-growing platform is digital, especially tablets. People acknowledgegoing after news recommendations from social-media sources, but they actuallyprefer to find stories on their own from news sites like The New York Times and CNN.com. I used to get most of my news from AOL, but once they started running teases instead of news headlines, and they focused more on JayLo than Afghanistan, I started looking elsewhere.
Here's more about our news habits:
• About ¼ ofU.S. adults get their news from more than one device.
• Nearly half(44%) own a smart phone, and 18%, a tablet.
• Most (70%)get news from a desktop computer, but also more than half (56%) viatheir tablets (note some overlap here).
• Of peopleemployed full-time, more than 3/5 (64%) own a tablet computer.
• People preferTwitter over Facebook as a news source.
