Vacation Locally

Thanks to fantastic deals at Travelzoo , my husband and I put together a romantique weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed at Dallas's swanky Adolphus Hotel and dined at the Crescent Club.

Today we visited the Sixth Floor Museum, which chronicles the legacy and assassination of John F. Kennedy. We moved to Dallas thirty years ago this week, yet we had never been there. We found it interesting that they pretty much held the party line on what the Warren Commission said. They did present conspiracy theories, but neglected to mention the one about Texas' own LBJ set forth by a History Channel series.

We found ourselves expressing surprise that we were only thirty minutes from our own house. So much to discover and explore in our own back yard!

Our daughter stayed with our friends John and Kelley. Tonight we had double-date night with them while our girl babysat. Win-win.
