A Perfect "15"

The journal Human Reproduction reports that a study of more than 400,000 in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles in the UK (that is a lot of cycles) has found a “strong association” between the number of eggs retrieved before IVF and the live birth rate. Evidence suggests that the chances of a live birth increase with the number of eggs collected, up to the number of 15. Between 15 and 20, the association was "flat" and numbers higher than 20 were associated with a decline.

This is the first study to analyze the connection between the number of eggs retrieved and live births.
