More Manuscripts

A team from CSNTM recently returned from a two-week expedition to Orlando, Florida. While there they were working at the Scriptorium: Center for Biblical Antiquities located at the Holy Land Experience. The Scriptorium houses The Van Kampen Collection, one of the world’s largest private collections of manuscripts, rare Bibles, and artifacts.

The Center was able to photograph 56 previously uncatalogued Coptic New Testament manuscripts along with updating some of their older photos. It was an important trip since Coptic, an Egyptian language, was one of the first languages the New Testament was translated into. Also, it was a significant language in North Africa—an area that meaningfully shaped the rise and influence of the early church.
