In Fair Verona

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.

Thus begins Shakespeare's most famous work, Romeo and Juliet.

Last month when we were in fair Verona, we passed through the archway you see above to view Juliet Capulet's balcony. Lovers from all over the world had written their names on the walls. So my husband decided he needed to add a couple who have had a happier romance than the Montague/Capulet pair. My daughter, not to be outdone, grabbed a pen and left this: "I love Justin Bieber and Taylor Lautner."
