Leave a Legacy

Sunday was an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Derek Bacon, a student in Vancouver, Washington's, Hudson's Bay High School's class of 2010. Hudson's Bay is the school where my late brother-in-law, Gordon Patterson, taught science and technology before he was killed by a texting driver last September. Derek had a chair in the Eagle's Nest with "Mr. Gordon Patterson" written on it. Derek presented a mentor pin for Gordon, who was also an Eagle Scout, which my sister received gratefully. If you were to leave earth today, who would say you mentored him or her?
