Book Updates

It's been more than two years since David C. Cook released my novel, Informed Consent. And the big surprise for me is that it's selling better now than it did then. I have NO IDEA why. But here's a recent review. If there's one sterotype I wanted to shatter, it's that AIDS hits only a certain socioeconomic group...

I'm still waiting on the two new coffee cup studies, which were supposed to release in late July. I'm told they should arrive any day...

Dr. Cutrer and I just finished a minor facelift of When Empty Arms Become a Heavy Burden, which Kregel plans to re-release in the spring. Broadman retired the book a few years ago, so we are happy Kregel wants to bring it back. Some of my favorite quotes and anecdoates relating to infertility are in it. I enjoyed briefly working again with my old friend and former "co," Dr. Bill, and to revisit some of the stuff we first drafted fifteen years ago. For example, when writing the first edition, my husband and I went to Yosemite with my sister and her family to help us recover from the shock of a failed adoption. Imagine this--we were updating the book this month while visiting Yosemite with our daughter. That was like coming full-circle.

Last time we visited Grand Teton National Park in the summer, we were waiting on a phone call telling us we could bring her home. This month Gary and I sipped coffee at the foot of Grand Teton while she slept peacefully in the RV. What a great physical-place reminder that Our God answered us far beyond our dreams.
