My Prof from North Korea

Sang Bok David Kim: How to Deal with Impossible People

Sang Bok David Kim was one of my college professors. Actually, both Gary and I had him. He is the only person I have ever known who was born in (and spent his childhood in) North Korea. At the time we knew him, he had not seen his mother since he was eleven years old. How we prayed that he could find her!

Gary and I remember his quick wit. He would say, "Koreans are the good looking ones. When we get to heaven, you will realize just how good looking I am!"

I stumbled on this video today of a message he delivered in Bethlehem, and it has left me weeping. Here he tells his dramatic ending to the part of his story relating to his mother, provides a short history of Korea, and describes what it's like to live with injustice and still make peace.
