FYI on two announcements in Christian publishing recently:
Abingdon Press hasannounced the launch of the “Faith and Fiction Bible Study” series, the firstwomen’s Bible study series to combine Bible study and Christian fiction, usingnovels as a backdrop for exploring biblical themes. Novelists for the first twostudies are Melody Carlson and BarbaraCameron. The six- to eight-week studies will include a participant book forgroup members, a leader guide, and a DVD featuring author interviews.
HarperCollinsPublishers announced Mark Schoenwald has been appointed president and CEO ofits new Christian publishing division. This division is comprised of Zondervanand the newly acquired Thomas Nelson. Each publisher will continue to offer itsrespective brands and maintain its unique editorial focus. Schoenwald willreport to the president and CEO of HarperCollins Publishers Worldwide, and willserve on the HarperCollins executive committee. Scott Macdonald will leave hisposition as president and CEO of Zondervan and will serve in an advisory role.
