Coolness alert: This is a hyperbaric chamber, and it helps patients with wounds or damaged tissue from radiation that fail to heal due to lack of oxygen to one area. In the chamber these patients breathe 100 percent oxygen and feel pressure like what scuba-divers experience at forty-five feet below the surface. That pressure dissolves more oxygen in the blood, delivering the good stuff to areas that need it.
Why until this week had I never heard of such a thing? I gotta get out more!
