Good Movie

If you like gorgeous Hawaiian beaches full of palm trees, waves, and surfers hanging ten, you’ll want to see “Soul Surfer.” And in the process, you’ll find yourself inspired. This flick tells the true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm and 60% of her blood in a shark attack. With grit and courage she relearned her sport and went on to compete at the championship level. Hamilton’s skill goes beyond surfing, though. She uses the trauma she’s experienced to help others see that they too can rise to overcome their limitations. And she does so with a solid faith that doesn't have to have "all the answers." The film released on DVD this week. Its all-star cast features AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Carrie Underwood, and Dennis Quaid. If you’re not into Hawaii (yarright), you might like the film for its upbeat music by artists such as Britt Nicole and Francesca Battistelli. Oh, and its generous extras. "Soul Surfer" is rated PG. The entire family can watch most of it, but the shark attack segment is definitely not little-kid-friendly.
