Get Low

Several months ago along with other members of the press, I previewed "Get Low." The screenplay, written by a Lutheran minister, was inspired by the true story of a recluse who planned his funeral while he was still alive. The lineup of stars--Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, and Sissy Spacek--totally works. As mentioned in a previous post, Murray is not a funny guy in this one, and I liked him in this serious role. But it's Duvall who delivers the strongest performance. The film has some suspense and good surprises. Two thumbs up. Opens today.
