I want to be: A writer
That last one was not of this writer's doing, and it's just another reminder that God puts families together. Special honors received today were: Science Fair participant; PPCD Helper; Perfect Attendance All Year; Best Handwriting; A-B Honor Roll All Year; and Highest Yearly Average in Spelling.
And even though college is seven years off, she joined a group of students who wrote essays about further education. You will see why what she wrote both surprised (shocked?) us, and made us smile:
When I go to college, I want it to be at Dallas Theological Seminary. That is where my mom goes. It is wonderful there! My mom is a teacher there! If I go there, I would like to be taught by my mom. I would like to get a Bible, sing, and write a 1,000-page story! I would love to get that opportunity. My college will be a cool college!
Why I want to go to college is because, it sounds fun! My teacher, my mom, and my dad convinced me! It so worked.
Why I think it is important to go to college is because you can learn about God, you can get Bibles to read, you can get LOTS of cool books to read, and you do almost anything you want to do!
I think college is cool because, you do stuff that's fun, it is where you can learn new stuff, and READ BOOKS! I think it would be cool to do all that. It would be cool to do all that. I would listen to all of the directions, pray, sing to God, wear nice clothes, worship all day, basically do everything to learn more about him.
When I go to college, I will say "I got my way here. And it was worth it!"
At this point in her life, Alexandra hates to read, so I like her optimism here. And I suspect the big graduation celebration for my brother-in-law last weekend had something to do with her impressions of life at DTS as one big party. She has one thing right, for sure. Like parenting, it has been worth the sacrifices. We're proud of you, Alexandra, and we thank God for blessing our lives with you!
