Gospel of Judas--An Oxymoron?
It has been a great week...if you like bashing Christianity. Is this the best they can do? The Gospel of Judas? It made yesterday's New York Times headlines, so apparently so. In other news, Jesus apparently walked on ... ice. Yes, the Sea of Galilee in the Middle East apparently got cold enough for ice patches. Of course, if the Bible said that, everyone would scoff. This is the desert, folks! But since scientists say it--well, that changes everything. Uh, the ice patches were submerged, of course. Yes, I know ice floats. But this is what the scientists said could have happened.
Last month, my family and I were in London, and when we were by the Thames in the snow flurries, we read of the few times in recorded history when the Thames actually froze. It is cold in London several months of the year, but the Thames freezing over is a rare event. I could be wrong, but in the history of the city since about A.D. 43, I think I read that it has frozen two times. But like I said, I could be wrong. It coulda been three.
